The Hadrian's Wall World Heritage site the
Roman Wall - only 15 minutes by car to the visitor attractions of Vindolanda, Chesters Fort and Housteads. Walking in wild unspoilt countryside; Northumberland National Park, Roman Wall National Trail, the Pennine Way .

From the Anchor Hotel in Haydon Bridge you can enjoy Northumberland's wonderful countryside, sights and visitor attractions: border castles, picturesque valleys, rugged moorland and the Cheviot Hills, stunning coastline with wide sandy beaches.

Fishing - Langley Dam, Hexham, Keilder, Derwent Water, Sweethope Lochs and many other venues.

Haydon Bridge is between Newcastle and Carlisle; its easy to visit the beautiful and rugged North East coast and magnificent castles, such as Alnwick famous as Hogworts School in the Harry Potter films, and for its Gardens and Treehouse. Beautiful Coastline - From Tynemouth and Whitley Bay to Bamburgh, Craster, Seahouses and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Large unspoilt stretches of quiet sandy beaches. Historic Holy Island or take a boat from Seahouses to the Farne Islands nature reserve.

Kielder Forest and Water - Fishing and boating on Europe's largest man made lake. Kielder Castle visitor centre, forest shop, information centre, tearoom and exhibitions about forestry and conservation.
